Very late this week

Sorry I am so late but I was going to update on Monday after the bank holiday, but a friend came for a cup of tea and stayed for supper. By the time she had gone it was too late to start typing.

It was lovely having a three day weekend and no choir on Saturday!!! I was invited to a birthday lunch for one of the children in my class. It was a river cruise from the Radisson Hotel and was wonderful. What a treat. The parents did their best to include me, explaining what they were talking about. One of the dads kept me up to date with the sights. Not many pictures I'm afraid because we were eating.

The cruise started from the Hotel Ukrain which is another of the Seven Sisters.

We went on a boat like this. It was so big I couldn't get it all in the picture.

The staff were all dressed in sailor suits. This lady was serving cheese cake for the birthday cake.

I took one picture of the Institute of Science. The top of the building is a gold colour and is known as the Golden Brains.

Sunday saw me walking some more of the Bulvar Ring in the opposite direction from Pushkinskaya. As it was the first weekend in May the water fountains are now on.

There are some interesting buildings along the way and this is some of them. How's this for brick work.

Many of the buildings were built at the end of the eighteenth century and are very colourful. I saw this row.

My walk ended at Christie Prudy where I was caught in the rain the weekend before. Now the fountains are on.

On the way to the Metro I took these photos of a wonderful coffee shop called Magazin Chai-Kofe - the Tea and Coffee shop!!!

I also found these characters in a shop window. I think they are wonderful. What do you think?

I must finish now as it is bedtime. Peter has arrived safely for another month. Lovely to have company. Lots happening in the next few day but more of that another time.
