Good bye Peter

Not only did Philippa head home but so did Peter. The Puch, the seeds from the poplar tree has been all over the city - it is called summer snow and gets everywhere. Suddenly it caught Peter and before we knew it he had asthma and a chest infection. Straight to the doctor when he got home.

It was a busy week for my class. On Tuesday we visited School 2 ready for next year, and then on Wednesday we took them to Red Square. It was a super trip and the children got a lot out of it. Lots of map work. I have some beautiful art work. Then on Friday my class assembly was hastily assembled.

So once again I'm on my own. Yesterday, after general duties and a bit of report writing Tracey and I caught the tram and monorail to the cosmonaut museum. We finished with shashlik near the market - she was most impressed by the quality and the price!!

Hot water is back on so Gleb came to turn off the immersion.

Today I joined some of the others from church at Dunkin' donuts which has just opened. Then Esther helped me sort out my phone before finding a small garden near Tverskaya. Not particularly special but I did find this unusual sculpture.

I then walked to Mayakovskaya station to come home. This is one of the most stunning stations on the whole system and won an award at an exhibition. These are some of the mosaic pictures in the ceiling and foyer.
They celebrate youth and the military.

This is the central hall between the platforms. The pillars are stainless steel and look amazing.

Back to school tomorrow and my last four months. Lots to do so watch this space.
