Peter has started work and already has several clients. He is busy early in the morning and into the evening, so we are eating late. I think it will work out. Instead of going into the school he is going to the clients so is travelling all over the city. Here is are some of the metro stations he uses a lot. New to me!!
1905 remembers a failed revolution which Lenin called the practice for revolution to come. This is outside in the square.
These are at Barriknaya on the circle line. Again very Soviet in style.
Pushkinskaya.
Pushkin was a famous author who wrote fairy tales and the panels are scenes from his stories. More lyrical in style I think.
The zoo is not unlike Bristol being completly surrounded by buildings including one of the Seven Sisters. There is lots of water with ducks and other water birds. Many of the enclosures are very small as was the case in the UK, but companies are beginning to sponsor animals and things are improving in places. Many of the large animals have soft surfaces to walk on, and there is obviously a large hospital wing there which looks very new.

This parrot intruiged us as it was using a piece of bark in its preening. It seemed to be taking something from the bark and rubbing it all over it's feathers. It would wedge the bark around its neck between preens.
The zoo is in two parts with a bridge over a main road. this is the view from the bridge. Autumn is on the way.
Mum polar bear had cubs and they were very active. It was just sad when she started waving to the crowd. It looked wrong but everyone cheered.
These pelicans had plenty of space.
We also found a camping shop which Peter was pleased about as he has been looking for ages.
Quiet day here with us both getting ready for the new week. A beautiful day so I went for a walk in the evening as I was fed up with being indoors. Church was quiet as Simon is at the Deanery Synod. Met Sheila who has also joined the Moscow International Choir and she is hoping to join us for the carol service.
The trees have started to turn so I am hoping to get some pictures in the next few days.
