A trip to the opera

Sheila gave me a lovely treat this afternoon and took me to see the Snowmaiden at the New Opera house in the Hermitage gardens. I visited them back in the summer. The New Opera is a delightful building. Judging by the photos fairly newly restored from a ruin. It has been beautifully done.

Outside

Lovely stone work and simple metal work on the stairs.

Birds waiting for the second half.

Girls in tradtional costume. The head dress is called a Kokoshnik and is named after a cockerals comb.

We had snow on Friday but all gone. I hope it not the start of an early winter. Three day week ahead which will be good.
