Mum in Moscow - Wednesday

This is in large font for the benefit of some of Mum's friends.

We arrived home safely last evening about 2 hours after landing so that was not too bad. The wheelchair assistance had worked out well and everyone was most helpful. None of us was late to bed last night.

Today started early as Peter still has work. Mum was awake so we set off for the city as soon as we were ready. Registration first - get the paperwork done first. Then in to Red Square and coffee in Gum. The display was briefly about the early space programme, but nothing new having been to the Cosmonaut museum in the past. Mum found the food hall intersting with its mix of Russian and International food.

Then I persuaded Mum to climb the steep steps into St Basils Cathedral. We both found it intersting as some painting work is going on which was interesting to watch.

By then it was lunchtime and it was threatening to rain. A very nice gentleman guided Mum down the steps as there was no rail to ground level. Then a quick pancake in Gum before heading towards home.

Then back to Voykovskaya and a spot of shopping in Karousel, a quick stop at the market for potatoes and a new tram ticket and then home. Shattered!!

Peter has gone to work so we are sitting quietly. A local walk after an evening meal I think.
