Thursday

A slow start today as I overslept. We decided to take a trip along the Moscow River from Kievskaya to just beyond the Kremlin and back. Peter was able to join us as his lesson didn't come off. Mum braved the Moscow metro and coped with several very full trains and lots of escalators. The architecture of the metro is well known. She was impressed by the lamps, mosaics, painting and interesting plasterwork. I will do another blog about stations I have visited another time. All sorts of people gave up seats and helped her during the day.

As we got off the boat the skies opened and we got rather wet. Still we started to dry off so headed off to the Europisky shopping mall for coffee. Rather later than intended we then tried to visit the Dior exhibition, but we were too late and the ladies were queuing out of the gate. By then we were pretty tired and sticky so headed home on the 27 tram so mum saw some more of the countryside. We had had a long walk last evening around Koptevo.

This evening we went to the Uzbecki restaurant I went to several times last year. Haven't been for ages and it has been done up.

So Mum's second day comes to an end. It has turned rather hot and humid which is a shame, but we are carrying on as usual. Tram riding in the morning and ballet in the evening. Lovely.
