The little wooden church is becoming very dear to me, though I have only been inside once. The other evening as I was walking home the bell began to chime for the 5 o'clock service. There is a little book shop so I popped in to have a look. As I came out the solitary bell had been joined by a carillon of 6 or 8 bells. They are hand chimed by a lady pulling on connected strings. There was a definate pattern to her playing, and I could just see her as the top of the tower was lit. It was a magical experience. Then after 10 minutes the sound built to a crescendo and stopped. I caught the beginning of it again tonight and was sent on my way with a joyous sound.
I will try and take some photos while it is dark, though Peter has my camera a lot during the day.
