Kremlin means fortress and they are all over Russia, but this is the most famous. Peter and I decided to go even though the skies were as grey as ever and the ground wet. I haven't seen the sun since I came back four weeks ago. It is exhausting.
The Kremlin. The tomb of the unknown soldier is outside the walls with a formal guard. Inside many of the buildings are government offices, but in the middle are a group of churches or cathedrals. Again several were closed but the ones we did go in were beautiful with wall paintings and icons by the hundred. The history of the Kremlin can be found elsewhere, but the photos are of the different church buildings. I can't remember which was which, but they are all beautiful. The frescos on the outside show what the insides are like.
We also visited the Armoury which holds holds a museum including Faberge eggs.
