International Women's Day

Back to school and frantically getting ready for the inspection in a couple of weeks time.  The children enjoyed the trip to the Cosmanaut Museum. They were super, talking to the guides and translating for Peter and I. They even got the film shown for us - in Russian but we understood enough.

We have had a three day weekend for International women's day. My best flower!!! Isn't it just wonderful. I also had a lovely bunch to tulips and Andy and Stuart brought all the ladies a single red rose. I'm getting a surpise from Anna tomorrow.

On Satruday we found the monorail and took a ride. It starts near the grey line and goes past the telecom tower and Cosmanaut Museum.

Betty invited us, together with Tracey and Cathy for supper which was pleasant. Though we got there at 5.30 it was gone 9.30 before we left. We just sat chatting and enjoying food. It was interesting to see another person's flat. Betty has been here a long time so it has a very personal touch. Mine is still very clinical and sparse.

After church I met Peter at Ismylova market. We found part of the 'fun' section which is open in the summer so I took these photos.

Today is International Women's Day so the flags are out. I went into school for a short time and we have done some shopping and stayed quiet. It was lovely and sunny out but oh so cold. Back to minus 7!!! Still the snow is still trying to go slowly.

Peter's last week!! Still I'll soon be home. I have been asked to stand for the Church council and after some thought I have said yes, though I don't know how much use I'll be.

Busy week ahead with parent consultations and final preparations for inspection.
