Beautiful weekend

All behind again and now leaving on Friday for a week in the UK, leaving Peter here. Now that will be odd.

Saturday dawned bright and clear as I took Peter and Tracey R with Sheila and her friend Rachel to VDNKh on the tram and monorail. It was an expedition for Sheila and Rachel as they had not used the trams before and for Sheila quite a trip out of the city.

Now the fountains have been turned off and it is cooler, market stalls have been set up outside the gates and inside selling all sorts of things. We didn't really get time to brouse as there was so much to see. Here are some pictures of elements of a couple of fountain.

Alla, from school. also met us to tell us about it from her point of view. Everyone was really interested. Architects and skilled craftsment who had worked on churches worked on the pavilions and on the metro stations which is why they are so amazing.

Sheila and Rachel left us after a bit and we continued towards the botanical garden coming out near the Ostakino communication tower.

The weather continued good into Sunday so I took the opportunity to go back to University to look over the parapet over the city. Sheila joined me bringing a friend she had known in Hong Kong and is now in Moscow. Sadly there was still a pollution haze over the city, but here are some pictures.
